I teach women how to defend themselves. Whether it’s how to use our voice, break an arm, or choke a neck, I believe learning self-defense is an outside-in approach to connecting with our self-worth.

What is “Empowerment Self-Defense?” It starts with the belief that you are worth defending. The Women Empowered (WE) program offers self-defense techniques rooted in the time-tested principles of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. WE takes both a psychological and physical self-defense approach to neutralizing the most common and dangerous threats against women. By taking a trauma-informed approach to instruction, Women Empowered offers a fun, safe learning environment for all participants, and was developed so that anyone, regardless of their physical attributes, can learn. The goal of WE is to foster the confidence needed to set preemptive boundaries with others, along with the physical techniques to back them up so that we can decrease our risks of encountering violence.
